Help A Horse Updates
The new website, helpahorse.awardspace.us is finally finished! After weeks and weeks, the new template has been added, and it's finally published for everyone to see! The Animal Abuse page was supposed to be on the new template, but instead it was turned into a Slaughter page. The Animal Abuse movie wasn't finished, and it's going to be a LONG time before it's done, so we decided to just turn it into a different page for now. Later, once the Abuse movie is done, the page will be published.
Some of the cats that were posted on our website have gotten adopted! That is great news for them! There are still some animals that need homes on the website, so be sure to view them!
Legacy's website www.lovablelegacy.co.nr has also been updated! Her In Memory Of movie is posted there. If you haven't yet viewed her movie, it would be nice if you did! When we first posted it, on the first day it got 506 views! Lots of people must care about Legacy.

Help A Horse News
The website was given a special St. Patrick's Day theme. The theme will stay, until Friday, then it will revert back to it's normal version. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
A new Official Help A Horse Video, MAY be added to the homepage of the website! We are not sure yet! The first Official video had old clips, and old pictures from a while ago. It was also made when Help A Horse was just starting out. Now, we have more up to date video clips and pictures. We also have a new experienced video maker, who makes MUCH better videos. Our new video will include up to date music, and more interesting effects! Should we make a new video or should we keep the old one that we have? You can see the old video here.
Please vote on this poll, and give us your opinion! Your thoughts matter!
A movie about adopting rescue horses has been created! You can view it here, and it is being added to the website shortly.
Another movie, about Horse Slaughter (NOT graphic), is also available for viewing! You can view it below!
Lots of animals have been adopted, and lots of animals are now available for adoption! If you are interested in any of the animals on our website, don't hesitate to ask questions about them!
Also remember to view Save Da Horses website at www.savedahorses.com They help rescues save horses from slaughter. If you are anti-slaughter and would like to help the cause, please view their website and join their Yahoo! group.
Remember to visit Audi's website too! She just adopted a wonderful, and of course adorable puppy named Marley! It's such a cute dog! Her website is www.freewebs.com/animalswon!
URGENT NEWS-New Arena Needed!
Days End Farm Horse Rescue is getting a new farm. Their new farm is coming along great! The fields are huge, there are 30+ stalls, there's many offices, feed rooms, tack room, WASH STALL!!!, lounge, etc. All of it is great and pictures are available on the website. The only thing that is missing is an outdoor arena. We need an arena on the outside for potential adopters, for training purposes, and for foster care. An outdoor arena is not a priority because we need a lot of stalls and everything perfect for the horses first. We do not have enough money to build an outdoor arena at this time.
If you would like to make a small donation towards an outdoor arena, please send it to the address listed below.
You can also see the new farm coming along at the website listed below.

She is very cute (as you can already tell), and a home is a MUST at this point. A rescue, foster home, or permanent home, must take Lizzie ASAP! Lizzie is wormed and is up to date on routine shots. There is a spot on her nose, (unkown diagnosis). The tests on Lizzie's nose will come back in a couple weeks. It is also unkown whether Lizzie is spayed or not. Lizzie is about 1 1/2 years old and is a complete sweetie!
Lizzie is free to a rescue or foster home! Please hurry, she has a limited amount of time!

March's Horse 4 Adoption- Xandra

Xandra (z-andra), is such a sweetie! She LOVES to run, you often see her galloping around in the field with her friends. It is so much fun just watching her play. She has so much energy, and she loves to get exercise! She is a 12 year old Arabian mare. She is a beautiful bay, and is 15.1h. Xandra was the mother of one of the foals that DEFHR took in. So she is great with babies. She is also very nice to other horses. She doesn't kick or bite any of them in the field, and she gets along great. Xandra doesn't have much training under saddle, but she is able to walk and trot really nicely. She is a great prospect, and she is a LOVELY mare, so shows would deffinitely be great for her. She loves getting attention, getting groomed, and getting treats! She's a lovely, beautiful mare, and would make a great jumper prospect or a companion horse. Please consider her! Her adoption fee is $600 and she is available!

March's Dog 4 Adoption- Rocky

Rocky is the cutest dog you will ever see! He is an energetic pup, at only 7 months old. Because of his energy, he cannot go to young children (under 10 years of age). He is very cute and very intelligent. Rocky is an Australian Cattle Dog. It is suggested that potential adopters research this breed, before submitting an application. Make sure you have background information of this breed of dog. Rocky is a medium sized dog. He will need someone who will take him on lots of walks, and give him the exercise that young dogs need! Rocky is up to date with routine shots. He is located in Reisterstown, MD

Sad News
Eve is doing better. Her leg is no longer in the swollen condition. She is finally ridable again. She did have a very stressful day on 3/9/08 because it was extremely windy! She lost her blanket and it landed in a puddle of mud. She didn't have a replacement, so the blanket she is currently wearing is 2 sizes too small. She is getting better with her physical condition, but she was shivering to death in the cold when her blanket was lost. She was scared and depressed. But she somehow drastically recovered when she smelled a container full of Stud Muffins (her FAVORITE horse treat).

Indigo (above) passed away! He was kicked hard in the face and severly damaged his eye. It was not a pretty sight and it looked extremely painful. Indigo was old, but he was the sweetest thing and was in good condition until this "freak" accident. This caught everyone off guard and he is going to be missed dearly! He was such an important part of our lives, it is so sad to see that he will not be in the fields with his friends anymore.
Quinn, also died! He had a heart attack. He had nerve damage in his leg, so it was hard for him to walk. He's in a better place where he can walk with no problem!
Fibi (below) died! Fibi died of an unknown cause. She had lots of health problems though and she wasn't doing too well. She had asthma and during the summertime, it was so hard for her to breathe. She's in a much better place now!

Telly (below), a Thoroughbred mare who was rescued from Lost and Found, was returned. Unfortunately, her owners were not able to handle her, so she was returned. She is currently being trained, but she is really fun to ride. She can jump high, and has no problems at the w/t/c. She does need a confident rider though. She will take off, if she senses you are nervous (when you are nervous, she is nervous!). It only takes a little bit to understand how to ride her! She's an amazing horse with amazing abilities! (she's great at shows ;) )
Havannah, a Quarterhorse X was returned due to behavioral issues. Which was really odd because Havannah is a completely laid back mare. It was a surprise, but apparently the owners said that she reared, and was horrible on the trails. But Havannah is a sweetie, and has never reared at the rescue. She's a great horse, and she is good for riding. Contact if interested!
Happy News
Mountain (left) and Gatsby (right) were ADOPTED! Yes, the two longest horse residents at Days End were finally adopted on 2/23/08. They went to a really nice retirement home where they will be getting lots of attention and love! It was a really exciting day for them, and they deserved it! Mountain was 25 years old and Gatsby was 20 years old, so it was deffinitely their time to leave!
Tinkerbell, the roan Thoroughbred that was tortured and abused, is doing amazing! She has gained so much weight and actually looks like a horse! She is very sweet and her attitude has changed so much. She is doing great and you can deffinitely tell when you look at her.
Abbey, a sweet chestnut mare, arrived at Days End in fair condition. She is very sweet and is so nice. She is getting adopted! Her coat is very shiny and she's extremely sweet! She is leaving soon with her new family.
Roulette and Bruce, two of Days End's horses were at the Pennsylvania Horse Expo in Harrisburg! They got some attention, and they might've found their new adoptive family! We'll just have to wait and see!
2 Beautiful horses: a buckskin paint, and a dapple grey arrived at the rescue, both with a bad case of founder. BUT they are doing so much better. They are eating and actually trotting! They are really sweet, and once their hooves are better, they won't last long at the rescue.
Willow (below), the Quarterhorse X is doing GREAT! She did stretch her tendon, and had a puncture wound, but she has almost fully recovered! She is able to be ridden at the walk/trot and once she gets a little better, she may be able to canter then jump again! She loves to jump and canter, so she is going very far in her recovery!

*In Memory of Indigo* Remembered Always*
Indigo was such a sweetheart. He was old around 21 years old. When Indy first came into the rescue, he was very skinny, and he was a stallion. He was put in a field with other stallions, so when he came in, he had scars all over his body from the various fights he was involved in. Indigo was also missing his front teeth due to an accident with a 4X4. Even when Indigo came into the rescue, he was very sweet and calm. He was easy to handle, and was a real sweetie. After Indy was fully rehabilitated, he was a nice show horse. He loved to get ridden and would have been an amazing dressage prospect. Indy would usually take off at the trot, just because he got so excited. He loved getting attention, and could be handled by even the youngest volunteers. Later in Indigo's life, he developed arthritis, so his riding was limited. This made him unhappy, but it was for his own good. Indigo was never kept with mares because he was gelded late in his life. He was a very nice Thoroughbred, who would've been a great horse for a special family. Indigo died in a "freak accident". Of course, no one knows exactly what caused his death, but there is a theory that one of the other geldings reared up and striked Indigo right in the face. After the horrific accident, Indigo was taken to the Equine Hospital. There was a way to save him, but that would take months of recovery, and thousands of dollars. Since Indigo was older, the recovery would've caused him excrutiating pain, and the cost of the surgery was excessive, they decided to just humanely euthanized Indigo, so that he would be free of his pain forever. Indigo will be missed by dozens of people, and will never be forgotten! He will always be loved, and will be missed!
